Clinical Research is a systematic study of new drugs in human subjects to generate data for discovering or verifying the Clinical, Pharmacological (including pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic) or adverse effects with the objective of determining safety and efficacy of the new drug.

Dr. Anwar ShaikhDr. Anwar R. Shaikh is currently working with Allana College of Pharmacy as a Professor and HOD for the Pharmaceutical Chemistry department. His work experience includes 5 years in the Industry and 11+ years in Academia. He is a recognized guide for M. Pharm and Ph.D. students with 32 students who have successfully completed their M. Pharm and 2 students registered for Ph.D.

Research Areas: Computer Aided Drug Design and Synthetic Chemistry

Publications: 30 International Research Articles, Authored 04 Books-as single author
Patents: Filled an Indian Patent (Under Examination)
Awards: Best Research Publication Award in 2013 by Vlife Sciences for his work on computer-aided drug design

He has delivered more than 500 talks/lectures as a resource person and guest lecturer at various institutions in India. He is an invited speaker for training teachers on animation based teaching tools.

He has also developed a mobile application named ‘Pharmacareer’ which has more than 100,000 downloads worldwide.

Dr. Anwar is actively involved in creating scientific animations since 1997. He has introduced ‘ChemToons‘ an innovative method of teaching chemistry using animations.  YouTube Video Channel is highly appreciated by students staff and industry people as 3,90,000 viewers till date.
